tere tulemast!

OÜ Roua is a company that helps connect Japan and Estonia, and by extension, Asia and Europe. Our motto is to work from home and enjoy the world. We are based in Tallinn, Estonia.

From Japan, In Estonia, To the World.

🇯🇵⇢🇪🇪⇢🌍

ROUA was founded in 2019 by Roua (@roua12tnt).

The company was established to provide translation and interpretation services to English and Japanese, which often occurred at the time, as well as services to assist companies with whom we know in Estonia. Later, we integrated the services and contracts we had personally provided overseas companies and have continued our activities ever since. Currently, our main projects include the management of IT development projects and consulting services for overseas expansion.

Although our sales declined significantly at one point due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, from around 2021, thanks to the promotion of remote work, we received an increase in new contracts in Europe and Japan, and orders have stabilized. As a side job, in addition to working as a JPEE editorial department focusing on disseminating Estonian culture and life in Japanese, we also have workshops on language, illustration, and manga, and actual participation in Events.

At the five-year mark, we have redefined our mission as "From Japan, In Estonia, To the World."

  • Support Japanese companies and individuals who want to expand overseas or need better collaboration with foreign companies and individuals

  • Connect Japanese people in Europe, mainly in Estonia, and local people who are interested in Japanese culture but have little contact with Japanese people, and have opportunities for continuous exchange

  • Always be aware of the interactivity between online and offline activities, and contribute economically and culturally to the expansion of the space for human activities through technologies such as the Internet, VR, and AR

While continuing with existing projects, we will strengthen our organization and expand our projects by acquiring external human resources, and also focus on developing and disseminating our own services.

We are still a small team, but we hope to have many interesting activities.

If you are doing similar activities, if you are interested, if you would like to do something together someday ...

Please feel free to contact us.

Born in Kobe, Japan in 1990. After graduating from the Faculty of Economics in Tokyo, I worked as an intern or freelancer in New York, Manila, Wuhan and Tokyo, mainly in project management in the IT field. I visited Estonia for the first time in 2015 and stayed there for 1 year in 2016 for a project. After that, I returned to Tokyo to work at a think tank. After 1 year, I retired and returned to Estonia from the end of 2018 as a startup founding member. In January of the following year, I established ROUA to do my own freelance work while working on startups. After that, existing projects were postponed or aborted due to COVID-19, and while I was trying to acquire new projects, I started publishing the JPEE anthology every year as an activity to connect Japan and Estonia. After 2022, as remote work became more popular, I received more orders for projects that could be fully remote, and I worked on project basis for DX, management of international teams, and consulting. Currently, as a product manager for SaaS product development in the EdTech field, I am fully engaged in cross-functional work that connects the customer site in Japan with development teams scattered around the world. In addition, my hobby of drawing illustrations and cartoons has increased, and I have worked on character creation, webtoons, and banner creation. Most of his work is online, but he also participates in Japanese Pop Culture Event and Cultural Exchange Event in Estonia and abroad as a Teacher and exhibitor, and interacts with artists and children.
